Virtual Tutoring Centre
The Academic Success Centre provides free group virtual tutoring to all TRSM students and students taking management courses. Students pre-register for tutoring on Eventbrite. Tutoring sessions are led by upper-year Academic Peer Helpers (APHs), students who are hired and trained by the Academic Success Centre. The APH’s role is to support students in increasing their confidence with course material, as well as increasing students’ practice of skills to be able to work through problems on their own. APHs typically have achieved an A- or higher in the course they tutor. They are also often referred to tutoring roles by faculty members.
All tutoring will take place on the Zoom virtual platform. Prior to your first session, please go to the Ryerson Zoom domain to sign into Zoom. Students must log in to Zoom using their Ryerson credentials in order to be admitted to the tutoring session. For support on using Zoom, visit the Ryerson Digital Media Projects: Zoom website. Students are advised to review the ASC Virtual Tutoring Centre Step-by-Step Instructions for Students on the ASC Tutoring website to familiarize themselves with the processes related to registration all the way to providing feedback.
Students are responsible for familiarizing themselves with technology needed to participate in virtual tutoring and with approrpaite conduct in online learning sessions. Resources on these topics are available on the ASC Tutoring website.
